Accounts Semi Senior – Practice

    About the role

    The Arkk Alliance Ltd is a rapidly growing accountancy practice committed to delivering exceptional client service. As a result of that growth we are seeking a highly organised and proactive Accounts Semi Senior to join our dynamic team. This role involves managing a small but diverse and growing portfolio of clients, with whom you will be a key point of contact and build long-lasting relationships with.

    Through a variety of duties, you will oversee and manage the smooth and efficient delivery of work across more junior members of the team to deliver empowering, real time and relevant key financials and accountancy services, to ensure a seamless, professional and world class experience for our customers.

    You will work as part of the Resourcing & Compliance Team, reporting to the Senior Accountant in this Full-Time position, from our Leamington Spa office.

    What you’ll do:

    • Client Portfolio Management: Handle a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of accounting services.
    • VAT Returns: Prepare and review VAT returns, ensuring compliance with current regulations and submission deadlines.
    • CIS Returns: Prepare and submit monthly Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) returns, ensuring accurate recording of subcontractor payments and tax deductions, and compliance with HMRC requirements.
    • Bookkeeping: Assist with complex bookkeeping tasks, including reconciliations and adjustments, to maintain accurate financial records.
    • Financial Statements: Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with relevant financial reporting standards from source documents to final accounts for review.
    • Management Accounts: Prepare monthly or quarterly management accounts, including supporting schedules and reconciliations, to provide clients with insightful financial information.
    • Period-End Reviews: Conduct period-end reviews to ensure all financial data is accurate and complete, identifying any discrepancies or areas for improvement.Find a Job.
    • Client Health Check Reports: Generate client health check reports to assess financial performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
    • Team Supervision: Oversee the daily activities of junior team members, providing guidance and support to maintain high standards of work.
    • Quality Assurance: Review work completed by junior staff to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
    • Client Communication: Act as a point of contact for client inquiries, providing prompt and professional responses to maintain strong client relationships.
    • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance internal processes and contribute to the implementation of best practices within the team.

    What we are looking for:

    • Part-qualified ACA, ACCA, or AAT Level 4 qualified; alternatively, qualified by experience.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice environment.
    • Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and Microsoft Excel.
    • Strong understanding of VAT and CIS regulations, bookkeeping principles, and financial reporting standards.
    • Experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff members.
    • Emotionally intelligent, with the ability to develop trust and rapport quickly with a wide variety of clients, maintaining strong ongoing relationships.
    • Enjoys training and supporting team members but thrives working independently too.

    • An excellent communicator (verbal & written).

    What you’ll Get:

    • Competitive salary between £28,000 and £35,000 per annum, depending on experience.
    • 35 hour working week with 2pm finish on Friday’s (below industry standard).
    • ACA/ACCA/CIMA fully funded study support package, including membership, exam, and tuition fees.

    Hours: Full-Time 35hrs/week (Mon to Thu 08:30 till 16:30 & Fri 08:30 till 14.00)
