We’re on the lookout for a meticulous and proactive Payroll Officer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll manage end-to-end payroll processes for multiple clients, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and delivering exceptional service.
You will work as part of the Employer Services & Payroll Team, reporting to the Payroll Manager in this Full-Time position, from our Leamington Spa office.
What you’ll be doing:
- Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for a diverse client base.
- Collect and verify employee timesheets and attendance records.
- Calculate wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions in line with UK tax laws.
- Carryout Pension Auto-Enrolment duties.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations, including Real Time Information (RTI) submissions.
- Prepare and distribute payslips, P45s, and P60s to employees.
- Prepare and distribute P11Ds to employers and employees.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and update employee information as needed.
- Respond to client and employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
- Assist in preparing payroll reports for client review.
- Collect and verify employee timesheets and attendance records.
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar role within a payroll bureau or accountancy practice.
- Familiarity with payroll software (e.g. BrightPay, Payroll Manager or similar).
- Strong understanding of UK payroll principles and tax regulations.
- Experience with auto-enrolment pension schemes.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Knowledge of GDPR and data protection best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptability to changing processes and regulations.

- 35 hour working week, (2pm finish on Friday’s).

Hours: Full-Time 35hrs/week (Mon to Thu 08:30 till 16:30 & Fri 08:30 till 14.00)
