Due to our ongoing expansion, we are currently seeking to recruit an exceptionally talented and highly motivated individual eager to be a key part of the firm, in the rewarding and management role of Senior Accountant.
As the Senior Accountant you will be supporting a varied portfolio of SME clients in various financial aspects and leading the compliance team on a variety of accounting, tax, bookkeeping and reporting work, as well as with the wider client financial services offering.
As an exceptional communicator and pro-active problem solver, you will work closely with and build long-lasting relationships with a wide range of clients. Through a variety of duties, you will oversee and manage the smooth and efficient delivery of work across the team to deliver empowering, real time and relevant key financials and accountancy services, to ensure a seamless, professional and world class experience for our customers.
As a senior manager in the team, your organisational skills, commercial awareness, and forward-thinking mindset will help you manage and develop your team effectively to provide these high-quality compliance services. Your strong IFRS knowledge and previous experience in accountancy practice, will ensure you are well-equipped to excel in this role and the day to day running of the department.
You will report to the Director and work as part of the Accounting & Tax Team, in this full-time position, from our NEW Leamington Spa office.

In return for this exciting opportunity, we are looking for someone who;
- ACCA, ACA qualified.
- A minimum of 5 years experience gained within a UK accountancy practice compliance team.
- Previous experience as a manager or assistant manager
- Experience of working with multiple SMEs, with an appreciation for working with owner managed businesses
- Strong IFRS knowledge and experienced in researching accounting areas and explaining them to clients.
- Proficient in double entry bookkeeping and management accounts.
- Passionate about financial control and reporting.
- Technically capable with a thirst for learning, improving, and developing new skills.
- Tech Savvy, with a strong knowledge of Excel and cloud accounting software such as Quickbooks and Xero.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and professional individual, with a strong work ethic.
- Confident, personable, upbeat individual, who can establish, nurture and maintain effective and positive working relationships with clients, team members and other stakeholders.

What would I be doing as a Senior Accountant?
- Proactively identifying opportunities for client’s growth, provide financial advice to support their strategic objectives and communicate actions clearly.
- Help with running the compliance department in terms of finances, recruitment, and inputting on strategy.
- Supervise and manage the workload to ensure client work is completed timely and delivered to a high standard.
- Lead the preparation of management accounts and statutory accounts.
- Coach, train, and develop the accounts team and line reports, to enhance their skills, knowledge and performance.
- Confidently liaise and correspond with Clients, attend meetings, and help with queries.
- Communicate with third parties as required.
- Review annual statutory accounts and management accounts prepared by the team.
- Review personal and corporate tax filing prepared by the team.
- Prepare technically complex accounts and tax returns.
- Lead a team, overseeing the production of the work to deliver fantastic work.
- Work collaboratively with Directors and other departments to support the overall delivery of services to your portfolio.
- Wow clients daily, getting to know their business to deliver a great experience.
- Contributing to our growth by retaining existing clients and building relationships with potential new clients.
- Preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts and financial packs.
- Investigate, address and advise on technical accounting inquiries.
- Lead projects, including management and budget planning.
- Review of bookkeeping and organisation of accounting records
- Handle technical and challenging projects, working to accounting standards and considerations.
- Liaise with HMRC and other third parties, as required, on client matters.
- Support with general accountancy services and business advice.
- Contribute to achieving quarterly team objectives and key results (OKRs).
35 Hours per week (Mon to Thu 08:30 till 16:30 & Fri 08:30 till 14.00)
