As Trainee Payroll Administrator, you will be joining our friendly team who will fully support you to be successful in this role. The position is a varied role, working closely with the Payroll Team to ensure payroll reports are generated accurately and on time for a diverse portfolio of clients across the UK.
You will work closely with clients in this role, so you’ll be a confident communicator and pro-active problem solver, with the ability to build trusted and personable relationships.
You’ll possess a tenacity for learning, improving, and developing, have a strong attention to detail, be highly organised and demonstrate excellent numerical skills.

Developing their role to Payroll Assistant, and then potentially a Payroll Senior and Payroll Manager over time.
You will report to the Payroll Manager, in this Full-Time position, from our fantastic Leamington Spa office.

In return for this exciting opportunity, we are looking for someone who;
- Holds Grade 5 or higher in Maths & English GCSE
(You need to be capable of multiplication and percentage calculations, as you will be required to do manual payroll calculations. Although training will be provided).
- Previous experience in an admin or finance-based role advantageous, but not essential.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and professional individual, with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, over the telephone, via letter writing and emails.
- Great problem-solver with exceptional attention to detail.
- Good IT skills including working knowledge of Word and Excel.

What would I be doing as a Trainee Payroll Administrator?
Payroll is a varied and dependable responsibility and as your training and experience develops your role will incorporate the following duties;
- Requesting information and sending reminders.
- Assisting with the processing of weekly, monthly and four weekly payroll runs.
- Processing payroll changes as requested by clients.
- Setting up of auto enrolment pension schemes.
- Pension administration with various pension providers.
- Processing starters, leavers and calculating holiday pay.
- Processing SSP, SMP and other statutory claims.
- Processing of P45/P46’s, P60’s and generating reports for clients.
- Responding to and dealing with client payroll queries via phone/email.
- Dealing with HMRC liaison.
- Dealing with The Pension Regulator.
- Setting up of new payroll clients.
- Generating BACS payments.
- Assisting with the preparation of Construction Industry Returns.
- Updating records on the internal management system and maintaining accurate records.
- Providing admin support, including dealing with inbound and outbound post, scanning and letter preparation.
- Support the team in respect of processes relevant to payroll and benefits (P11Ds, etc).
- Support the Managers and Partners with the development of the bureau.
Hours: 35 Hours per week (Mon to Thu 08:30 till 16:30 & Fri 08:30 till 14.00)
